Mr. Jude's Room

I have been meaning to post pictures of his room forever, but never got around to taking pictures and there's still a few things I want to do.  But I decided to go for it and show off the awesome bed that Tristan built for his little guy.  Everything in the room is things we already had except for the rug (purchased from CB2 with a gift card), the desk chair (from Ikea), the ceiling light (Ikea) and the brown floor pillow from Land of Nod.  The wood rolling bins we built ad I stained them and I bought the castors for them from Ikea.  I haven't bought bedding yet b/c really it doesn't show from the floor and I rarely make his bed b/c it's too difficult!  His room is pretty small and so we decided to build a loft style bed.  We found the one from Pottery Barn Teen and made it pretty similar.  Like I said, it is a work in progress right now, but one day I'll get around to the rest.

Backyard

This summer we toyed with the idea of raising a garden again, but we just didn't have the time.  We do however, have a trouble spot off our patio where we cant get grass to grow, the same spot where we once had a garden, and we didn't want to hire a lawn service, so we had to figure something out.  Our plan...ROCKS!  Saltwater Creek rocks were the solution.  We started yesterday and we hope to reveal the finished product this week!  A friend of ours picked up the fire pit for us in Stillwater, which is huge but we love it.

Our weekend project

We or shall I say Tristan, completed our mini project this weekend and so Miss Flossy got wood floors in her room. I painted the walls before we left for vacation (they were brown). I have another project for her room that I'll post later, but it will require some sewing on my part so it may be awhile ;) Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I think we are in a post vacation slump b/c we woke up this morning with not even an ounce of energy. Exhaustion set in today, but hopefully an early bedtime can fix that :)

Finished!

So this past 4 day weekend we installed our new hardwood floors and I am happy to say that tonight they are complete! It's been a hard couple of days, but it was worth every moment. I have to commend our extremely resilient kids who were such troops throughout the whole process. I actually laid the floors too which was kind of empowering. Today I took a break and Mr. Vaught had a helper and I took the kids for a bike ride and some much needed outdoor/quality time. Bella spent Friday night with our friends Jeremy and Lacy. They adopted kids for the weekend and had a snow party at their house. They were so brave-8 girls! Isabella had so much fun and didn't want to come home, but who could blame her? Home was saw dust haven! We have everything somewhat put together with the exception of the white paint that will go on our walls, a new dining set, new pillows and new curtains as well as a rug. But I am just SOOOOO glad the floors are finuto :) Thanks Mr. Vaught for your diligence and hardwork...love you :)

The Playroom.

Well...we changed the playroom up a bit, not much. Since I have a bad habit of changing things constantly, I thought I would post some pictures so maybe I will leave it alone! I also wanted to share a pic of what I got in the mail the other day...4 perfectly adorable tea towels that I was pining over and decided to buy. I just love things like that :) Have a great weekend everyone!
